News Of Pertamax Price Rising IDR 16,000, Andre Rosiade Asks Pertamina To Consider The Ability Of Communities Affected By The Pandemic

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VI of the DPR RI, Andre Rosiade, denied that his party approved the increase in the price of Pertamax fuel to Rp. 16,000 per liter.

Commission VI, said Andre, only supports the government to discuss the price difference between industrial fuel and subsidized fuel with the development of world oil prices with the public.

"It is not true that Commission VI agreed that the price of Pertamax was at Rp. 16,000 thousand," said Andre at the Nusantara I Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, March 31.

Andre said that in a meeting with Pertamina's directors, Commission VI asked Pertamina to solve the problem of the scarcity of subsidized fuel in various regions. The second is asking the government to increase the quota for subsidized fuel.

"That's the point of the meeting. It's just that we support Pertamina, please have a meeting with the government and decide to discuss the current conditions, we don't give support of Rp. 16,000 thousand," said Andre.

The Gerindra politician invited the government and Pertamina to determine the price if there had to be an increase. However, said Andre, the government needs to look at the condition of the people's abilities who are still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Although we know that the use and sales of Pertamax is only two percent of Pertamina's product sales, only a little, but of course we hope that if there is an increase, it won't be adjusted to the ability of the community. So that users don't switch to Pertalite so that government subsidies are getting higher. the government is thinking about," he explained.

Until now, Andre added, Commission VI of the DPR has not yet heard the government's official decision to raise prices.

"We are waiting for the government's official stance because raising the price of Pertamax does not have to ask for approval from the DPR, it does not need to get approval from the DPR," he said.

"But we remind you that if you want to increase it, consider the economic capacity of the people who are still affected by the COVID-19 pandemic," said Andre.
