Gerindra: Not True M Taufik Leaves Due To Alleged Corruption Case In Munjul Land
JAKARTA - The Gerindra Party DPP has opened its voice regarding the issue of Deputy Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPRD M Taufik leaving the party created by Prabowo Subianto. Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Habiburokhman, dismissed M Taufik's withdrawal from the party because of his alleged involvement in the Munjul land case, East Jakarta.
"I need to emphasize that it is not true that M Taufik has left Gerindra regarding his alleged involvement in the Munjul land case," Habiburokhman told reporters, Wednesday, March 30.
The Gerindra Party spokesman said that there had been no official letter from M Taufik to the Gerindra Party Court. As for the Munjul land case, Habiburokhman said Gerindra respects the presumption of innocence.
"So far there has been no letter from him to the Party Court. Regarding the Munjul land case as far as we know, his status is only a witness. So we must respect the principle of presumption of innocence," he said. M Taufik before the court issued a decision.
"The Gerindra Party Court cannot impose any sanctions without a court decision with permanent legal force," he said. Now, M Taufik's internal relationship with Gerindra is said to be in disarray.
