CIAMIS - The Ciamis Resort Police of West Java is handling the case of a tanker truck carrying cooking oil that overturned on a road in the Cipaku area, Ciamis Regency and caused traffic congestion to flow.
Ciamis Police Chief AKBP Tony Prasetyo Yudhankoro said the tanker truck carrying cooking oil overturned and the oil spilled onto the road.
The incident, he said, was still being handled by the Ciamis Police Traffic Unit to find out the cause. The tanker truck loaded with cooking oil drove from Cirebon to Ciamis.
"Please time, we are still cross-checking in the field about how much has been spilled," he said.
The incident of the cooking oil tanker truck was documented by residents around the scene using a cellphone video, then spread on a number of social media and WhatsApp.
In the video, the truck rolls over at a bend in the road in the opposite direction to the position of the left tire on top, then a liquid such as coconut oil flows from the tank onto the highway and also the ditches around the road.
A number of residents who were around the scene tried to collect cooking oil using buckets.
