Sibinuang Train Hits Truck At Crossroads Without Signs In Padang
PADANG - A collision between the Sibinuang Train (KA) and a truck looking for diesel occurred on the KM road plot. 23+000 between Tabing Station and Duku Station, to be precise at the unofficial crossing Jl. Adinegoro, Koto Tangah sub-district, Padang City caused the locomotive to be damaged and unable to continue its journey.
Public Relations of PT KAI Divre West Sumatra, Erlangga in Padang, Tuesday, March 29, said the collision occurred at around 14:40 WIB. At that time, the Sibinuang Train (KA B6) was traveling from Padang to Naras Pariaman.
Meanwhile, a green truck with Police Number BA 9894 LU drove from Jl. By Pass through Jalan Kampung Melayu I to Jl. Adinegoro which is crossed by rail.
"When the trucks were passing simultaneously, the Sibinuang B6 train came from the direction of Tabing to Duku and the temper tantrum occurred," he said as reported by Antara.
The collision also resulted in a billboard unit on the side of the road collapsing, blocking traffic causing congestion.
Currently, the Sibinuang KA locomotive and trucks have been evacuated. The locomotive was immediately brought for repairs at the Padang Locomotive Depot. Erlangga said that some level crossings in Padang did not have signposts and guards so that drivers' vigilance was needed to avoid accidents with trains.
"We appeal to road users to always be careful when crossing level crossings. Reduce speed, stop for a moment, and make sure there are no passing trains," he said.
He said that in accordance with Law 23 of 2007 concerning railways, Article 124 and Law 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, Article 114, and PM Number 94 of 2018 concerning Improvement of Safety of Level Crossing Between Railroads and Roads, train travel must take precedence. . Other vehicles must stop when the train passes.
Meanwhile, the truck driver, Dody, said he was looking for diesel when the collision occurred. According to him, the flow of vehicles was heavy at the time of the incident so he could no longer avoid it.
