Patrice Evra Ready To Debut In The Ring, Adam Saleh: He Started His Boxing Career, I'll End It
JAKARTA - A few days after it was officially announced that former Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra would step into the ring to face social media influencer and boxer Adam Saleh in an exhibition boxing match, the Frenchman published a video on social media to give a glimpse into his training process. .
The bout between the two men will take place at the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, April 30, and it will be Evra's first celebrity bout.
"Big respect to all boxers around the world," reads the caption on Evra's recording.
"I came into boxing with humility, respect and joy for the sport! Ready to learn."
It was the Manchester United legend who chose Saleh as his opponent, but the influencer stressed that Evra may regret his decision.
"They showed four or five opponents for Patrice Evra and I was one of them," Saleh told SunSport.
"He and his PR team voted for me, and they made a mistake. He started his boxing career - but I'm going to end his boxing career. They really believed he could knock me out, that's what they said over the phone, 'Are you ready? saw Patrice Evra knock you down'.
"But you know what, I'm happy and grateful to be able to share the ring with a football legend from Manchester United, who is a teammate with Cristiano Ronaldo."
Saleh, who has two wins and a draw in his three exhibition games, also said he would not show mercy to the former France international.
"I'm ready for that, I want to share the ring with the legend and teach him a lesson never to set foot in a boxing ring with me again," Saleh added.
"I will have no mercy."
