The National Food Agency Supports The Role Of Regional Owned Enterprises In Maintaining Food Security In The Regions
JAKARTA - Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi supports the role of BUMD, especially those engaged in the food sector, to maintain food security in their respective regions.
This was said by Arief when meeting in a Limited Meeting to discuss the government's rice reserves (CBP) with Pamrihadi Wiraryo, chairman of the All-Indonesian Business BUMD Association (Perdasi), Monday, March 28.
Arief said the NFA supports the establishment of BUMD Food in the regions. In addition, his party also encourages inter-regional cooperation, especially in the food sector, because not all regions have a surplus of various food commodities.
"There is a surplus in rice but a deficit in other food commodities such as chili, shallots and other commodities, or even like Jakarta, where due to the lack of land, 99 percent of food commodities depend on other regions. In addition, inter-regional cooperation will also help control inflation, Arief said in his written statement.
NFA, Arief continued, encourages regional leaders to present a high commitment to concern in the food sector, both in production centers and downstream.
"The increase in national food production is directly proportional to the welfare of farmers/breeders/fishermen," he said.

President Director of PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Pamrihadi Wiraryo in his capacity as Chairman of Perdasi hopes for support from NFA to be able to involve many regional enterprises in creating food security in their regions. For example, involving BUMD in the regions to get quotas for distributing cooking oil, distributing sugar or other sensitive food ingredients, especially before National Religious Holidays (HBKN) such as Ramadan and Eid.
"A variety of business enterprises in the regions should be able to ensure the distribution and distribution of various sensitive food commodities evenly to the community so that they can avoid monopoly efforts by large capital owners," he explained.
Related to this, Pamrihadi hopes that regional heads will support the formation of various BUMDs or BUMDs that are engaged in the food sector by providing sufficient capital to absorb various food commodities and distribute them evenly to the community.
