Jessica Chastain Wins Best Actress Oscar 2022 . Thanks To The Eyes Of Tammy Faye
JAKARTA - Actress Jessica Chastain for the first time won an award at the 94th Academy Awards or Oscar 2022 as Best Actress through the film The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
She beat out actresses Olivia Colman (The Lost Daughter), Penélope Cruz (Parallel Mothers), Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos) and Kristen Stewart (Spencer) for the Oscars this time.
In his acceptance speech, he addressed suicide as something that has touched many families including himself and the LGBTQ community.
"We are confronted with fanatical and discriminatory laws that plague our country, with the sole purpose of dividing us further. There is violence and hate crimes perpetrated against innocent civilians around the world," he said. Monday, March 28.
He said Tammy's character in The Eyes of Tammy Faye was inspired by her radical act of love. Chastain is inspired by the character's passion.
"I see it as a guiding principle that takes us forward, and it connects us all in wanting to be accepted as we are, accepted as is, and to live a decent life. A life without fear of violence or terror," he said, quoted by ANTARA.
Chastain provided a transformative performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, which also stars actor Andrew Garfield. The biographical film, directed by Michael Showalter, brings audiences to the religious life of Tammy Faye Bakker.
