Reminding The Impact Of Container Scarcity, Jokowi: Can Influence Inflation Because Buying Goods Is More Expensive
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded all ministries/agencies and regional heads not to underestimate the scarcity of containers. According to Jokowi, if the scarcity of containers continues, the impact will be an increase in the price of goods.
Furthermore, Jokowi said that if you previously searched for 2,000 containers, you could easily find them. However, currently finding just one container is very difficult. It is also inseparable from disruption.
"The impact is not to play around because the scarcity of containers for distribution of goods is all disrupted, from one country to another. From one province to another, one island to another. The pre-cost costs will increase 6 times, what does that mean?", he said during a briefing on the proud affirmation action made in Indonesia which was broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel, Friday, March 25.
"We are burdened by the pre-cost of containers, which eventually consumers will buy much more expensively, the price will rise. We all have to understand things like this, where to go to understand", he continued.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta said the scarcity of these containers would have an impact on the movement of inflation. Although, currently Indonesia is quite successful in maintaining. However, it is not impossible that this can be affected.

Even Turkey is up almost 50 percent, this is what all governors, regents, mayors, president directors of SOEs must understand and be able to find a way out", he said.
According to Jokowi, in the current situation, the state's financial treasury is the main engine for driving the domestic economy. Therefore, Jokowi asked all ministries/agencies, up to local governments to spend the budget for the procurement of goods and services to buy domestic products.
"How? Yes, we must have the same desire to buy to be proud of our own manufacture, proud to be made in Indonesia", he said.
