Free Of Quarantine Throughout Indonesia, KSP Reminds PPLN To Stay Disciplined Prokes
TANGERANG - Overseas Travelers (PPLN) arriving in Indonesia no longer need to undergo quarantine. The Presidential Staff Office asked that the easing of the quarantine free policy should not be misused.
This was conveyed by the Main Expert Staff of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Abraham Wirotomo while reviewing the implementation of the quarantine-free policy for PPLN, at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, Friday, March 25.
"The President's policies in the form of concessions like this (free quarantine for PPLN) should not be misused, by ignoring the procedures and testing. We must respect the performance of officers who continue to ensure that protocols are implemented for the safety of all of us," said Abraham Wirotomo, in a press release in Jakarta, Friday, March 25.
As is well known, President Joko Widodo has officially announced the easing of policy for Foreign Travel Actors, in which PPLN arriving through airports throughout Indonesia, no longer need to go through quarantine.
Abraham said, to ensure the policy runs optimally in the field, the Presidential Staff Office team carried out monitoring, one of which was at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten.
"Today KSP saw firsthand the entire process of PPLN arrivals at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Starting from getting off the plane, checking vaccines, PCR tests, to PPLN leaving the airport. Everything went smoothly," said Abraham as quoted by Antara.
Abraham said there was still one process that needed to find a solution so that the quarantine-free policy for PPLN could run more optimally, namely, the payment process for the COVID-19 test.
From his observations, he revealed that not all PPLNs, especially foreign nationals, were ready to use the rupiah currency. So, they must first exchange to a money changer or money changer.
"If there are many foreigners who do not have rupiah to pay for the PCR test, it is feared that there will be a buildup. We have to find a way to make the flow even faster," he explained.
Meanwhile, Abraham is optimistic that the quarantine-free policy for PPLN throughout Indonesia will increase the arrival rate at Soekarno-Hatta Airport by 3-4 times during Eid.
"I am sure our citizens from abroad who want to go home for Eid this year will increase. Earlier, we asked the task force to increase service capacity and to engineer the queue flow so that there would be no buildup," said Abraham.
He appealed to people traveling abroad to continue to pay attention to health protocols and COVID-19 tests. Moreover, he said, the Task Force together with the TNI, Polri, Immigration, Ministry of Health, and airport officials have worked optimally to serve the arrival of residents, which is expected to increase in number.
