Suzuki Finance Sued By Businessman To Court For 1.5 Tons Of Rotten Crab
SEMARANG - Marine fishery businessman from Semarang City, Yuminto, sued PT Suzuki Finance Indonesia to the Semarang District Court after 1.5 tons of seafood he ordered went bad because the car he was carrying was pulled by the debt collector of the finance company.
The spokesman for the Semarang District Court, Kukuh Subiyakto, confirmed the case that was filed in the simple lawsuit classification in this court.
"The case is being tried by a single judge, Emanuel Ari Budiharjo," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, March 24.
In his lawsuit, the plaintiff filed for compensation totaling Rp410 million.
The details of the compensation are Rp. 210 million each for material losses due to 1.5 tons of damaged crabs and Rp. 200 million for immaterial losses.
In his lawsuit, the plaintiff describes the beginning of the unlawful act that occurred when he ordered 1.5 tons of crabs from Pamekasan, East Java, on February 22, 2022.
The crab orders were transported using a delivery service using a Suzuki Carry pickup vehicle numbered N-8557-WC.
On its way, the crab carrying car was intercepted by debt collectors from Suzuki Finance in Demak Regency, Central Java.
The plaintiff and the driver of the crab carrying car had requested that the cargo be delivered to its destination at Tambak Lorok for fear of rotting.
However, the car and its cargo were brought to the Suzuki Finance Indonesia Office without proper handling before a replacement car was provided to deliver the cargo.
When the cargo was delivered at 18.45 WIB, as many as 1.5 tons of crabs that were sent were found to be in a rotten condition.
For this incident, the plaintiff asked the court to grant the claim.
Previously, PT Suzuki Finance Indonesia through the Area Manager of the East Java Region, Ali Maulidi, stated that the confiscation of the vehicle, which had been in arrears for almost a year, was in accordance with the procedure.
In addition, according to him, Suzuki Finance also provides a replacement vehicle to deliver the cargo to its destination and without complaints from the recipient of the goods.
