Minister Of Health: Sufficient Supply Of COVID-19 Vaccine During Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin emphasized that the supply of COVID-19 vaccines in Indonesia is still sufficient if there is an increase in demand during the 2022 Eid homecoming.

"It's enough for two injections or a booster if the demand increases quite a lot," said Minister of Health Budi, Wednesday, March 23.

This year, booster dose vaccination is one of the requirements for traveling back and forth in order to maintain the health of the elderly who will be visited by travelers.

Meanwhile, Indonesia has a stockpile of 475 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. Meanwhile, around 395 million doses have been injected.

"So there are still 80 million doses of vaccine that we can use for booster injections, including for the second injection," said the Minister of Health.

In a week, he said, the average COVID-19 vaccine injection reached 5 million -6 million doses.

"So if the normal conditions are at least 20 million for one month, what we have is still four months of stock," he said.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 Task Force (Satgas) recorded that the total recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine booster dose in Indonesia to date have reached 18,070,929 people or an additional 505,551 people on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, those who received the second dose today (Wednesday) increased by 747,766 people, bringing the total to 156,139,516 people.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 vaccination with the first dose has increased by 322,631 people, bringing the total number to 195,229,531 so far.
