After Jokowi's Announcement Of Allowing Homecoming To Villages, The Ministry Of Transportation Immediately Arranges The Rules
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is following up on President Joko Widodo's directives regarding the policy of foreign travel and the 2022 Eid homecoming.
"The Ministry of Transportation will immediately coordinate with a number of stakeholders, namely the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, ministries and institutions, as well as other related elements," said Transportation Ministry Spokesperson Adita Irawati in a written statement in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 23, as reported by Antara.
Adita explained that the Ministry of Transportation would issue a circular regarding technical implementation instructions in the field for both foreign and domestic travel, which refers to the SE Task Force for Handling COVID-19.
According to him, this SE of the Ministry of Transportation is needed as a reference for operators of transportation infrastructure and facilities to ensure that the implementation of foreign and domestic travel can run smoothly and safely from COVID-19.
Technical guidelines for implementation in the field will also be discussed with stakeholders including the National Police, among others related to the mechanism for monitoring travel conditions and implementing health protocols in the field.
"It is hoped that the provisions regarding homecoming travel and their implementation can be finalized in the near future and announced to the public," he said.
Based on the results of a survey from the Balitbang of the Ministry of Transportation, the potential for people who will go home is close to 80 million if the current domestic travel conditions are applied, namely 2 vaccines and no need for an antigen/pcr test.
"Furthermore, we urge the public to immediately carry out a booster vaccine to protect themselves against community mobility which is expected to increase greatly during the Lebaran homecoming period this year," he concluded.
As is known, President Joko Widodo in his statement has announced policies related to the requirements for overseas travelers (PPLN) and the 2022 Eid al-Fitr homecoming, namely related to the conditions for foreign travel not to need to quarantine but still have to do a PCR test with negative results.
Meanwhile, regarding going home, people are allowed to carry out homecoming activities on the condition that they have had two vaccines and one booster vaccine with strict procedures.
