JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi guarantees the supply of basic necessities (bapok) is sufficient to face fasting or Ramadan and Eid 2022. For your information, during the month of Ramadan, consumption of basic commodities will increase from normal conditions.

Furthermore, Lutfi said that with sufficient supply, the prices of basic commodities will be more affordable for the community.

"The Ministry of Trade ensures that the supply of basic necessities, especially for the needs of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr is sufficient. With this sufficient stock, it is hoped that the prices of these basic necessities will be affordable," he said in an official statement, quoted on Wednesday, March 23.

Lutfi explained that based on data from the indicative supply of Bapok in food businesses or the wholesale market, rice was recorded at 851.41 tons with a demand of 80 thousand tons per month so that it is sufficient for the next 10 months.

Meanwhile, the indicative stock of granulated sugar was recorded at 504.81 thousand tons with a demand of 260 thousand tons per month. So, continued Lutfi, the supply is safe for the next two months.

"The Ministry of Trade will ensure that there is continuity of sugar produced by Indonesian farmers in order to obtain better farmers' exchange rights and at the same time the sugar stock is safe," he said.

Meanwhile, Lutfi continued, the indicative stock of cooking oil was recorded at 628.8 thousand tons with a demand of 422 thousand tons per month. "So that's enough for the next 1.5 months," he said.

Meanwhile, the indicative stock of wheat flour was recorded at 991.26 thousand tons with a demand of 550 thousand tons per month. So it's safe for the next 1.8 months. For soybeans, the indicative stock was recorded at 280 thousand tons with a demand of 200 thousand tons per month, enough for the next 1.4 months.

Then, the indicative stock of beef or buffalo was recorded at 35.43 thousand tons with a demand of 32.14 thousand tons. Lutfi said, the stock is sufficient for the next 1.1 months.

"This amount of stock will be added to the supply of Indian buffalo meat in the near future," he said.

Meanwhile, the indicative stock for broiler meat was recorded at 353.40 thousand tons with a demand of 266 thousand tons per month. The supply is sufficient for the next 1.3 months. Meanwhile, the indicative stock of broiler eggs is 434.76 thousand tons with a demand of 403.96 thousand tons per month.

The stock is sufficient for the next 1.1 months.

"For purebred chicken meat and chicken eggs, there is no problem that the supply is sufficient. In fact, the price tends to fall in the market," said Trade Minister Lutfi.

Indicative stock of garlic was recorded at 161.48 thousand tons with a demand of 40 thousand tons per month. Lutfi said, the stock is sufficient for the next 4 months. Meanwhile, the indicative stock of shallots was recorded at 619.15 tons per day with a stock requirement of 605.50 tons per day.

"For chili, the current supply is recorded at 366.30 tons per day with a normal supply of 386 tons per day. This means that the supply is still below the normal amount of 5.10 percent. However, harvesting will start at the end of March so the supply will be better." in April," he explained.
