Pangdam XVII: Komnas HAM Invited To See Incidents In Papua Including The Real KKB Terror
JAYAPURA - Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. TNI Teguh Muji Angkasa admitted that his party had invited Komnas HAM to see various events in Papua in real terms.
"The invitation was expressed in a meeting with Komnas HAM Chairman Ahmad Taufan Damanik, in Jayapura on Monday (21/3)," said Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Maj. Gen. Teguh Muji Angkasa in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 22.
In the meeting there were no principles discussed because all the issues raised were related to human rights.
Therefore, according to the Regional Military Commander, his party invites Komnas HAM to see the real things that are happening in Papua.
"If there is involvement of soldiers who commit human rights violations, the Cenderawasih Military Command/XVII is open to jointly checking in the field and if proven, strict sanctions will be given to provide a deterrent effect to soldiers," said Major General TNI Teguh.
Regarding the Gome incident, Puncak Regency, the Cenderawasih Military Commander explained that from the results of the crime scene (TKP) and field investigations, it was revealed that a company commander in the field was dishonest in reporting.
"The dishonesty is related to the reports given, especially regarding the parameters of the patrols carried out, which resulted in casualties among soldiers," said Major General TNI Teguh.
Three soldiers from the YR 408/SBH Kodim Task Force on January 27, 2022 died after being shot by the KKB in Gome, Puncak Regency, Papua.
