Easy Steps To Manage Your Android Lock Screen
JAKARTA - Nowadays, the lock screen of your Android phone can be very useful for displaying notifications and allowing you to access certain features without having to unlock your phone first.
Here are some ways that VOI has compiled from MakeUsOf for you to change your lock screen settings.
This method was tested using a Pixel 6 running Android 12. As a reminder, different Android phones can have slightly different procedures as well.
Enable Lock Screen Notifications
First, you can choose whether you want to show alerts and silent notifications, only show alerts, or not show notifications at all.
Go to your phone settings and select Notifications. Scroll down and tap Notifications on lock screenHere, you can choose from three different options: show conversations, hide conversations and silent notifications, or show no notifications at all.
You can also choose to show or not show sensitive information on your lock screen by enabling or disabling "Sensitive notifications".
If it's turned off, you'll only see the app where the notification came from, for example, you'll only see "1 new message" not the content of the message.
Choose The App That Appears On Your Lock Screen
The apps that appear on your lock screen are the same apps that are allowed to send you notifications. You can choose which one it is.
Go to your phone's settings Select Notifications > App settingsYou will see a list of your applications. You can sort them in alphabetical order, in most recent or most frequent order. You can also list which apps to turn off.
Get Personal Information On Your Lock Screen
While you can choose to only get general notifications on your lock screen, such as news headlines or the weather, you can also get more personal notifications for emails, reminders, flight reservations, and other items.
You can also find it by going to Settings > Apps > Assistant > See all Assistant Settings > Personal results.
In the Your Phone tab, make sure Personal results is turned on. You can then enable Personal suggestions on the lock screen before you ask.
Use Google Assistant On Lock Screen
The Google Assistant can answer questions and follow instructions from the lock screen if set to do so. It can also be a bit annoying if you accidentally trigger it so it starts talking unexpectedly.
Here's how to enable Google Assistant to work from the lock screen or turn it off.
Go back to Settings > Apps > Assistant > See all Assistant Settings but this time select Lock screenEnable Assistant responses on the lock screen. Now when you say "Hey Google", your phone will answer.
