Throwing Helmet At The Mandalika MotoGP Spectator Tribune After Gaining 1 Million Instagram Followers, Espargaro: Promise Is Debt!
JAKARTA - The racer from the Aprilia factory, Aleix Espargaro fulfilled his promise to throw the helmet he used during race day at the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP into the stands when the race ended on Sunday, March 20 afternoon WIB.
Espargaro kept this promise because his request to have more than 1 million Instagram followers was fulfilled.
Before the race, Espargaro had held a contest stating that if his Instagram followers penetrated 1 million accounts within 24 hours of being announced, he would throw his racing helmet into the grandstand. It turned out to be a success less than the specified time.
To keep his promise, after the race, Espargaro immediately approached one corner of the grandstand. He took off the white helmet and threw it away.
The moment when Aleix Espargaro fulfilled his promise was immortalized in a short video which Espargaro later uploaded to his Instagram account.
Accompanying the upload, Espargaro also wrote a statement stating that racing at the Mandalika Circuit was not an easy thing. However, he kept his promise and did not forget to thank the Indonesian fans for their enthusiasm.
"Difficult race, but good points for the championship! I've crossed millions of followers, so what was promised was debt! My helmet to the stands! Thank you Indonesian!" said Aleix Espargaro in his video upload.
After breaking through 1 million followers, Espargaro also got a challenge from netizens who asked the racer to give his motorbike and racing clothes if his followers exceeded 5 million accounts.
However, this failed to happen because until the race was over, Espargaro's followers had only touched 1.1 million.
