Review Of Waste Management In Banyuwangi, Luhut: From 2 Tons To 12 Tons Per Day

BANYUWANGI - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Pandjaitan on a working visit to Banyuwangi, East Java inspected the 3R Waste Processing Site (TPS3R) Tembokrejo Village, Muncar District and the Proud Made Indonesia (BBI) agenda held at the Banyuwangi Regent's Hall .

The TPS3R is also a model for waste management that will be built in several other provinces such as Bali and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

"The TPS3R Tembokrejo Village has been built since 2018, I really see the hard work of its construction, so that after 3 years, the waste management has been able to develop from what was originally only two tons to 12 tons in one day," said Coordinating Minister Luhut in a statement received by VOI. , Sunday 20 March.

Luhut explained, especially for Bali, it has entered the finalization stage to complete 3 TPST in July 2022, so that during the G20 implementation Bali is free from waste.

Kemenko Marves continues to support efforts to reduce waste in Indonesia, especially waste that ultimately ends up in the sea. "The main thing that we can apply is the discipline not to litter and sort it, because the benefits for Indonesia's cleanliness in the future are extraordinary," he said.

During the visit, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries was accompanied by the Deputy for Environmental and Forestry Management Coordination of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Nani Hendiarti and Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani.

On that occasion, Deputy Nani said that this TPS3R was built by PUPR in 2018 whose operations were then supported by Project Stop until the end of 2021.

"In 2022, as a continuation of this project, Systemiq will also support the Green Banyuwangi Project," he added.

The next visit was carried out to the Banyuwangi Regent's Hall to see MSME products.

"With the increase in MSMEs in the regions, it certainly encourages equitable distribution of economic development in Indonesia, in addition to increasing job opportunities, it also increases domestic goods spending," said Coordinating Minister Luhut.

The government will soon inaugurate an e-catalog containing goods produced by Indonesia to increase the use of domestic production (P3DN). The government will encourage all Ministries, Institutions, Regional Governments, and Business Entities to fulfill their goods needs through purchases on e-catalogs.

"I think this is important, because with this movement we can strengthen our economy and have a good impact on society," concluded Luhut.
