Nabire Police Chief Confirms 93 Ammunition Items Secured By Airport Officers Belong To Police

JAYAPURA - Nabire Police Chief AKBP I Ketut Suarnaya said his party had confirmed that 93 rounds of ammunition that had been secured by Nabire airport officers belonged to the Paniai Police.

"It is true that Nabire airport officers, Saturday morning (19/3) managed to secure dozens of ammunition brought by members of the National Police when they were about to fly to 99, Baya Biru. However, after checking by members of the Police at the airport, it turned out that the ammunition belonged to the Paniai Police, which was brought by Bripka. GM," explained AKBP Suarnaya as quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 19.

The Nabire Police Chief admitted that the case was simply the negligence of the member who did not report it to the airport staff because previously the documents he brought were complete.

To reach location 99, which is one of the mining areas that enter the Paniai Regency area, you have to go through Nabire airport.

"Access to location 99 can only be done through Nabire by using a helicopter or small-bodied aircraft," said AKBP Suarnaya.

Meanwhile, the Paniai Police Chief, AKBP Abdus Syukur, separately admitted that Bripka GM is a member of the Paniai Police Station who will serve at Police Post 99.

Bripka GM did carry 93 rounds of ammunition because at Pospol 99 there were 10 members, including the person involved, explained Abdus Syukur, admitting that at the airport GM did not inform the Paniai Police representative of his departure until finally the dozens of ammunition he was carrying were secured by airport officials.

"This case was merely the negligence of the members because they did not coordinate with the Paniai Police representative in Nabire," said AKBP Abdus Syukur.
