Jaya Metro Police Set Haris Azhar And Fatia Maulidiyanti As Suspects Of Defamation
JAKARTA - The Jakarta Metro Police have named Lokataru Director Haris Azhar and KontraS Coordinator Fatia Maulidiyanti as suspects in the alleged defamation case reported by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Zulpan also revealed that police investigators have scheduled an examination of Haris and Fatia on Monday, March 21.
"Monday (March 21-ed) is scheduled to be examined," he said. Investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya have raised the status of the alleged defamation case reported by Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan against Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanti to the investigation stage. Before raising the status of the case to the investigation stage, The police have tried to provide mediation space for both parties, but these efforts have not yielded any results. Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan reported Haris Azhar and Fatia Maulidiyanti for the circulation of a video entitled "There is Lord Luhut Behind Intan Jaya's Economic Relations-Military Ops" which was uploaded via Haris Azhar's Youtube account. The video discusses reports from a number of organizations including KontraS about the business of military officials or retired military personnel behind the gold mining business or plans to exploit the Intan Jaya area, Papua.
