Disnaker Records 349 Foreigners Working In Tangerang, The Majority From China Occupying Manager Positions In Steel Factories
TANGERANG - The Manpower Office (Disnaker) of Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, noted that as many as 349 foreign nationals (WNA) worked in several companies in the area. The majority are from China.
The Head of the Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities for the Tangerang Regency Manpower Office, Iis Kurniati, said the 349 foreign workers came from various countries including China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, the Netherlands, India, Poland and the United States.
"However, the majority of foreign workers in Tangerang Regency are from China (PRC)," he said in Tangerang, Antara, Friday, March 18.
Of the total number recorded at the Tangerang Regency Manpower Office, these foreign workers generally fill executive position formations in an existing company or industry.
"Companies that have the most foreign workers are generally in steel factories, up to 3 to 5 people, and generally serve as managers," he said.
In addition, many foreign workers also fill positions as educators or lecturers in international schools.
"Many foreign workers are also brought in as teaching staff for schools, such as the Pelita Harapan foundation," he said.
He revealed that all forms of licensing arrangements are under the authority of the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration (Kemenakertrans), so that his party cannot regulate or limit the need for foreign workers for the industrial and education sectors in the region.
"Disnaker is only limited to data collection and also supervision, the rest is related to prosecution, for example there are illegal foreign workers, there is the Immigration party through the activities of the Foreigner Supervision Team (TIMPORA), but so far no illegal foreign workers have been found in Tangerang Regency," he said. .
