Inspector General Napoleon And M Kece Have Reconciled, Eggi Sudjana Protests That The Trial Of The Beating Case Continues
JAKARTA - Legal Advisor to Inspector General Napoleon Bonaparte, Eggi Sudjana said that his client had made peace with Muhamad Kosman alias M Kece as evidenced in a written agreement signed on stamp duty by two parties.
Therefore, Eggi Sudjana asked the panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court to stop the trial of the beating case allegedly committed by his client on M Kece.
Eggi also asked the prosecutor why the peace agreement was not included in his legal considerations. He said prosecutors had smuggled legal facts and disinformation because they did not consider the peace agreement letter.
The public prosecutor did not respond to statements and objections to the arguments of Napoleon's legal counsel.
The panel of judges, led by Djuyamto, informed the parties that the trial would continue despite the peace agreement.
"We really respect what you said, of course the assembly must take a stand. Our attitude is to continue the (trial) stage," said Djuyamto.
He further asked legal counsel to follow the stages of the trial.
"Please follow the steps. It's not over, it's still a work in progress. Please yes," said the Chief Justice.
The legal advisory team in the courtroom showed a peace agreement letter that had been signed on a stamp duty of Rp. 10,000 by Napoleon and M Kece on September 3, 2021.
In the letter, the two parties stated that they agreed to make peace, forgive each other, and resolve problems amicably. M Kece and Inspector General Napoleon also agreed not to proceed to the legal realm.
M Kece became a victim of beatings by Napoleon along with several other detainees at the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit Detention Center on August 26, 2021 in the early hours of the morning.
M Kece, who was detained by the police for blasphemy, then reported the beating to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police on August 26, 2021.
The police on September 29, 2021 also named Inspector General of Police Napoleon Bonaparte and several other detainees as suspects for the beating.
The Prosecutor's Office on October 19, 2021 received the transfer of files for the case of the beating allegedly committed by Napoleon from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police.
In the process until the files were finally submitted to the South Jakarta District Court, the peace agreement letter between the two parties was never mentioned by the police, prosecutors, or victims.
However, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono on October 8, 2021 had conveyed an apology letter from M Kece to Napoleon. However, M Kece did not withdraw his report to the police, said Rusdi.
