Buya Syafii Maarif Has A Heart Attack, Ganjar: May He Get Well Soon, This Nation Needs Him

KEBUMEN - It is reported that Buya Syafii Maarif, a Muslim scholar and former Chairman of the Central Executive (PP) Muhammadiyah, had a mild heart attack. Buya Syafii is currently being treated at the PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital, Sleman.

According to information, Buya Syafii has been hospitalized for the past few weeks. However, news of Buya Syafii's illness was only recently heard by the public, including the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

"Yes, my friends told me earlier, they said that Buya had a heart attack. We pray that Buya will recover quickly, be healthy again," said Ganjar while observing the flood disaster in Ayah Kebumen District, Wednesday, March 16.

Ganjar actually wanted to visit Buya Syafii at the hospital. However, because today he has to check the flood disasters in various areas such as Purworejo, Kebumen and Banyumas, he has not been able to visit Buya Syafii.

"I really want to take a look, but because this direction is west to check for flooding, I haven't had time. I was just informed by my friends," he said.

The figure of Buya Syafii Maarif, continued Ganjar, is still very much needed by this nation. Many Indonesian people need a figure like him.

"There are many things that he can communicate coolly and interestingly. These are all things that make us comfortable. This nation still needs a figure like him. We pray for Buya to get well soon," he said while being agreed by volunteers and refugees.
