All England Starts Today, Hendra / Ahsan Don't Want To Be Careless In The First Match
JAKARTA – The Indonesian badminton team will start their journey at the All England 2022 starting today. A total of 22 players who were sent were ready to fight.
The world's oldest championship will be held from March 16-20. Indonesia is targeted to at least bring home one title.
Prior to the start of the tournament, the Indonesian team had already tested the playing field at Birmingham's Utlita Arena on Tuesday, March 15, yesterday morning local time. This arena will be the venue for the 113th edition of the All England 2022 badminton tournament.
The players used this exercise for approximately two hours to adapt to field conditions. Both wind direction, lighting, and shuttlecock speed.
Veteran men's doubles athlete Hendra Setiawan admitted that he had no problems with the field conditions.
"Today's field test, only once, but everything is ok. There has been no change from the previous All England. So there are no obstacles. Maybe what is different now is that they are freer from the COVID-19 health protocol," Hendra said in a statement. description.
The UK has just lifted all regulatory restrictions related to the pandemic. This has an impact on the rules that apply at the All England 2022 as well as burying fears of the bitter things from last year repeating themselves.
As is known, the entire Indonesian team was forced to withdraw at the 2021 All England event because they were on the same plane with a person who was confirmed positive for the corona virus. Now, that is no longer the case.
"There is nothing to worry about. Now we are free here. So we are sure that last year's incident will not happen again," said Hendra.
In the first round, Hendra, who is paired with Mohammad Ahsan, will face representatives from India, MR Arjun/Dhruv Kapila. Readiness and not being careless became their focus in the first match.
"In the first match, you have to be ready and don't be careless. You have to warm up more because the air is cold here. So it has to be really hot when you enter the field. Hopefully we can immediately start playing," explained Hendra.
