Bengkulu Police Seizes 74 Boxes Of Cooking Oil That Was Accidentally Hoarded, 2 People Arrested

BENGKULU - Bengkulu Resort Police (Polres) confiscated 74 boxes of cooking oil. Two suspects in the hoarding case who sold the oil above the highest retail price (HET) were arrested.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Bengkulu Police AKP Welliwanto Malau said the two perpetrators were BA (61) a resident of Betungan Village, Bengkulu City and AR (27) a resident of Talang Sali Village, Seluma Regency.

"It is true that we arrested the suspected hoarders and sellers on the HET and we are still investigating and developing them," said Malau, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 15.

The arrest was made after his party received information that there were people from the community who sold cooking oil above the HET.

So they did an inspection and found one house containing dozens of boxes of cooking oil in Betungan Indah Lestari Housing, Betungan Village, Bengkulu City.

As a result, officers found dozens of boxes of packaged cooking oil of various brands which were then immediately secured to the Bengkulu Police Headquarters. The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bengkulu Police, AKP Welliwanto Malau, confirmed that the two people had been arrested.

The following items of evidence were confiscated by the Bengkulu Police, namely one pickup truck, 34 boxes of Sinar Laut brand cooking oil.

A total of six boxes of Arwana brand cooking oil, four boxes of Resta brand cooking oil, one large pack of Rilma brand cooking oil.

Then one box of Duma brand cooking oil, 14 boxes of Tawon brand cooking oil, one box of Honest brand cooking oil and 13 boxes of Filma brand cooking oil.
