It's Better, Rocky Gerung Jokowi's Proposal To Make A Jamboree At IKN: If Cooking Oil Is Not Rare
JAKARTA - Political observer Rocky Gerung said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) could hold another event someday in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan. He suggested the event themed jamboree.
Not only ministers and regional heads were invited to attend the jamboree, but also academics, experts, community leaders, historical actors and the younger generation.
"Otherwise, if the atmosphere is good (cooking oil is not rare), Pak Jokowi invites all Indonesian people to make a kind of jamboree for the nation's capital, then we invite young people there, millennials, several anthropology lecturers, tribal chiefs throughout Indonesia, former "Former royal officials gather together. That's called Nusantara camping," said Rocky Gerung, quoted from his YouTube channel, Tuesday, March 15.
According to him, the ritual of pouring water and soil into the archipelago's jug at the zero point of the IKN, which was completed on Monday, March 14, had been misguided. Rocky thinks that the event should not only be attended by 34 governors from all over Indonesia and the ranks of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.
According to him, the participation of government officials in the ceremony towards IKN development will cause a bad perception among the public because it takes place in the midst of a shortage of cooking oil and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"This is what the minister's camp invites, whose affairs are technical, as well as politicians. What are these gangs who are being blasphemed as destroyers of the nation because they are unable to improve people's welfare, causing neglect," Rocky claimed.
On the same occasion, Rocy also touched on the moment when the Indonesian jug ritual was held. The community is currently under pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is experiencing a cooking oil crisis, so it is not wise to hold a big event in the midst of people's concerns.
Rocky also considered that the guests who were invited until the time of the event were the culprits of the community not responding positively to the ritual of pouring water and soil into the archipelago's jugs.
"Building a capital city actually only requires two things, one; money, the second; people's joy. The money doesn't exist, because investors run away, people's joy doesn't exist because people focus on cooking oil," he said.
The event at IKN Nusantara led by Jokowi has been completed. All invited guests have gone home. Jokowi immediately held a limited meeting (ratas) with his ministers on Tuesday, March 15.
One of the things discussed at the meeting was about the scarcity of cooking oil in many areas in the country. "One of them is about cooking oil," said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono to VOI, Tuesday, March 15.
