Golkar National Coordination Meeting In Makassar Discusses The Strategy For Winning The 2024 Election

MAKASSAR - The Golkar Party has begun to formulate a number of political strategies for the 2024 General Election (Election) through the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"The goal is to get input on strategies for winning the election," said General Chairperson of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto after opening the Golkar National Coordination Meeting in Makassar, reported by Antara, Friday, March 11.

He mentioned that all members of the council, including the DPR RI, Provincial DPRD, and Regency/Municipal DPRD attended the National Coordination Meeting. In addition, a winning strategy has been prepared to be discussed together.

"The election winning body (strategy) has been prepared by the DPP to win the election," the Coordinating Minister for the Economy told reporters.

Airlangga also explained that the Golkar Party had compiled a number of tactical steps to face the legislative and presidential elections on February 14, 2024.

"At the same time, the Golkar Party has arranged functionaries for the legislative and presidential elections. That will be the subject of discussion for one or two days," said the presidential candidate from the Golkar Party.

Separately, the Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP, Nurdin Halid, said that the National Coordination Meeting was a routine matter and had been programmed to strengthen the election victory.

"There are two very important materials, namely discussing KTA (membership cards) and strategies for winning the legislative, presidential and regional elections. Therefore, the Golkar Party has prepared itself," he said.

In addition, said Nurdin, other social issues will also be discussed, considering that the people are currently experiencing commodity difficulties related to rising prices and the scarcity of various community needs, especially cooking oil.

Based on observations, after the opening of the National Coordination Meeting, a number of students who held an action in front of the Claro Hotel urged Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto to resolve the issue of cooking oil and the increase in prices of other basic commodities. They were dismissed by members of the Young Forces of the Golkar Party (AMPG).

During the action, tensions broke out and led to riots between students and AMPG members. The incident was suppressed by the security forces. A similar incident also occurred this afternoon with the same demands.
