East Java Governor Khofifah Reviewing Cheap Cooking Oil Market In Mojokerto: God Willing, March 14 Will Come Again 4 Thousand Tons
MOJOKERTO - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa reviewed the implementation of a cheap cooking oil market in the Gunung Gedangan Rest Area, Mojokerto City, East Java as an effort to accelerate the stability of cooking oil prices, which have recently soared.
"Today, actually starting on the 4th, we have brought down 3.8 million liters of packaged cooking oil to the market, God willing, on the 14th, another 4,000 tons will come," said Khofifah as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 11.
Khofifah also appreciated the steps taken by the Mojokerto City Government to continue to operate the cooking oil market so that the community's cooking oil needs can be met.
"I hope that all will be able to carry out the distribution process well, Mrs. Mayor, including those who are very aggressive in carrying out cooking oil operations," said the Governor of East Java.
Khofifah also provides support for the existence of the Gunung Gedangan MSME center which is projected to be an economic lever in Mojokerto City.
"Appreciation to the Mayor, there is an MSME center here, hopefully in line with the decline in the number of COVID-19," said Khofifah.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Mojokerto Ika Puspitasari said that the Mojokerto City Government and the East Java Provincial Government worked together to distribute 10 thousand liters of cooking oil, which was sold at a price of Rp. 25,000 per two liters.
He said the Mojokerto City Government always synergizes with various parties such as the East Java Provincial Government, especially in providing cooking oil at normal prices. To date, the Mojokerto City Government has distributed at least 90 thousand liters of cooking oil to the people of Mojokerto City.
"The market operation that has been carried out by the Mojokerto City Government itself is 80,000 liters that are already available, not to mention the 10,000 today, 4,000 from the governor means that there are 90,000 more. This is indeed the focus for the residents of Mojokerto City," he said.
The mayor who is familiarly called Ning Ita also said that with the synergy in the form of this cooking oil market operation, the people of Mojokerto City will be able to be helped in meeting their cooking oil needs.
Moreover, in Mojokerto City, which is a trading city, many MSMEs in Mojokerto City have businesses selling food that require the availability of cooking oil as raw material for production.
So that the availability of cooking oil at affordable prices can help these MSME actors to survive during this pandemic.
"We certainly get tremendous benefits, especially our MSME players, because of the more than 30 thousand MSMEs in Mojokerto, the majority are MSMEs engaged in the food sector," said Ning Ita.
Ning Ita also said, in Mojokerto City itself, MSMEs are one of the economic levers in the urban Majapahit world. With the rise of MSMEs, economic recovery can be felt more quickly.
According to Ning Ita, this is one of the reasons Mojokerto City has positive economic growth in 2021.
"From 2020 to 2021, thank God, Mojokerto City's economic growth has experienced an exponential increase of almost 200 percent. From minus 3.69 in 2021, the BPS release has a surplus of 3.63, meaning the economy in Mojokerto City has improved," said Ning Ita .
For this reason, he also wants the Mount Gedangan rest area, which was inaugurated in 2021, to become one of the MSME centers in Mojokerto City. In this place, there will be various activities so that the wheels of the economy of Mojokerto City will continue to improve.
"We are trying in 2022 every Saturday and Sunday there are joint gymnastics activities, there is a spill market which we will allow to carry out activities here, and earlier there was also a tax payment from the East Java Provincial Government who can also be on standby here, later there will also be a mobile samsat, " he said.
In this activity, Governor Khofifah also distributed basic food assistance and cash in the amount of IDR 500 thousand to ultra micro businesses. This assistance is expected to be an economic cushion for them during the pandemic.
