JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is still waiting for a copy of the cassation decision of former Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Edhy Prabowo from the Supreme Court.
This step is important before taking any follow-up actions, including investigating the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU) which was proven to have received bribes from lobster seed exporters.
"We are still waiting for a copy of the verdict to be studied first," said Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, to VOI, Friday, March 11.
For information, the Corruption Eradication Commission once mentioned the opportunity to investigate allegations of money laundering by Edhy. However, this step was taken after the court's decision in the case of accepting bribes for fried shrimp or lobster seeds that ensnared him had permanent legal force.
"If it has permanent legal force, after signing up, yes, of course we will immediately study the considerations of the judge's decision," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Friday, November 26.

"Is it the same from the facts in the district court or is there a possibility that it can be developed further into other articles or the application of other laws such as money laundering," he said.
As previously reported, the Supreme Court reduced Edhy Prabowo's sentence from 9 years to 5 years in prison. In its consideration, the cassation panel said the former minister had done a good job.
As for the intention of working well during his tenure, because Edhy revoked the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 56/PERMEN-KP/2016 dated December 23, 2016 and replaced it with the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation Number 12/PERMEN-KP/2020 which aims to utilize lobster seeds. .
