Cellphones Are Often Snatched, The Police Ask The Public To Be Wise In Placing Their Cellphones
JAKARTA – The Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol. Hengki Haryadi, appealed to the public to be wiser when placing valuables when exercising.
The reason is, the consequences of the crime of snatching when the victim is cycling can be very fatal. Sometimes, the victim suffers serious injuries due to falling at high speed.
"We urge the public to avoid putting their cellphones behind their backs," said Pol Kombes Hengki Haryadi when confirmed by VOI, Friday, March 11.
The police chief said that usually the perpetrators of the robbery, specialist bicycle users, had first observed from behind the victim. When the victim was careless and the situation was too bad to escape, the perpetrator immediately executed the cellphone.
"We have preemptively analyzed the vulnerability of the area. Sometimes there are times and places that are not touched, so we return the responsibility to ourselves," he said.
Previously reported, Dr Tirta posted four photos showing two men on a motorbike, trying to steal a cyclist's cellphone on the Senayan flyover near TVRI, Central Jakarta.
Although the attempted robbery failed, the Tanah Abang Sector Police continued to search for the two perpetrators.
“Jambret is in action again at the Senayan flyover near TVRI! Monday 2 days ago they acted in the Dalkot area - Sudirman and Bekasi now in the TVRI area. Take a photo with a photographer friend there, thanks to the photographer team who took the photo. Fortunately, the cellphone didn't have time to take it, because it was swift and the photographers helped and the bicycle partner was alert too," wrote Dr Tirta.
