Kills His Stepfather With Wood, A Man In Asahan Is Arrested While Hiding In A Sweet Potato Garden
MEDAN - The man with the initials BMS (32) who killed Suparman (65) was arrested by the Simpang Empat Police Criminal Investigation Unit team. He was arrested while hiding in a local community's sweet potato garden.
The Asahan Police Chief, AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira, said the perpetrator was the victim's stepson. The incident, he said, occurred on Wednesday, March 9, at night in Hamlet II, Air Teluk Kiri Village, Teluk Dalam District, Asahan Regency, North Sumatra.
"The perpetrator committed the murder by hitting the victim's head repeatedly using a piece of broti wood. As a result, Suparman's victim died," said AKBP Putu, Thursday, March 10.
Furthermore, said AKBP Putu, Head of Air Teluk Kiri Village, Miswanto reported the incident to the Simpang Empat police chief, AKP Cahyandi. Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation and tracked down the perpetrator.
"After a search for more than an hour, a joint team from the Asahan Police and Simpang Empat Police under the leadership of the Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Rahmadani managed to arrest the suspected BMS perpetrator who was hiding in the community's sweet potato garden," he said.
After securing the perpetrators, the joint team then searched for pieces of broti wood used by the perpetrators to kill the victim.
"For evidence, the broti wood was secured by officers from inside the bushes, after being dumped by the perpetrators," he said.
Until now, he said, his party could not confirm the motive behind the murder of his stepfather. Police are still investigating the suspect.
"Still under investigation," said AKBP Putu.
