President Director Of Garuda Indonesia Reveals Shocking Fact: Passengers Bring Bikes Priced At Hundreds Of Millions, But Charged With IDR 200,000 Even Angry
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) Irfan Setiaputra spoke about the passengers of the state-owned airline, who brought their bicycles everywhere to ride in other cities.
Irfan said, since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Garuda Indonesia did not charge a fee or free of charge for bicycles carried by airplane passengers.
"We continue to respond to this by continuing to provide free facilities to those who ride bicycles who want to ride elsewhere to use and bring their bicycles for free on Garuda planes," said Irfan in a webinar entitled Challenges of Post-Pandemic Air Transportation Management, Wednesday 9 March.
Irfan also said that many of the bicycles that were transported by Garuda Indonesia were not cheap bicycles. Then he had time to invite several communities to discuss the possibility of being charged for transporting bicycles on the plane.
"But when we try to discuss with several communities what if this bicycle is valued at Rp. 200,000, for example, if you take a plane, everyone gets angry. Everyone is still demanding that it must be free, even though the bicycle costs hundreds of millions," said Irfan.
