KPK Examines Procedures For Budgeting Up To Payment For Formula E Cooperation From Members Of The DKI Jakarta PDIP Faction

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) continues to investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta. Currently, investigators are investigating the procedures for budgeting to payment for cooperation.

This was done by asking for information from the DPRD member of the DKI Jakarta PDIP Fraction, Syahrial. After being examined, he admitted that he was asked about the ins and outs of the implementation of the international electric car race.

"(Earlier, we were asked, ed) about Formula E. The procedure and others," Syahrial told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 9.

However, he refused to go into further detail. Syahrial stated that he had provided information to investigators.

Meanwhile, when he was asked about whether or not he mentioned the expensiveness of paying the commitment fee to the organizers, he admitted that there were no questions that led to that.

"No, I didn't ask that," said Syahrial.

"The point is about procedures and others, yes. Budgeting, cooperation payment procedures, that's all," he added.

Previously reported, Syahrial was summoned by the KPK in his position as Deputy Chairman of Commission E of the DKI DPRD for the 2014-2019 period. The news of the summons was conveyed by the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Gembong Warsono.

For information, the KPK continues to investigate allegations of corruption related to the implementation of the Formula E racing event in DKI Jakarta to look for elements of corruption. It is important to raise this allegation to the level of investigation.

"Once again, the investigation is still looking for the criminal incident. When there is a criminal incident based on sufficient preliminary evidence, it can be escalated to the investigative process," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters quoted Thursday, February 10.

Meanwhile, regarding the investigation process, Ali refused to go into further detail. However, he said investigators were gathering evidence of the alleged riot.

"The investigative team is still collecting evidence, namely information and information from the summoned parties. Of course, we cannot detail what the material is, who will and has been summoned in this investigation process," Ali added.
