Bandai Announces New Project "One Piece Card Game" In July
JAKARTA - Bandai announced the new card game project One Piece Trading Card Game by Eiichiro Oda is scheduled to be released in July in Japan. Meanwhile, the international release will only be done at the end of the year.
Reporting from Gematsu, the One Piece card game will be different from the existing One Piece themed card games such as One Piece Kizuna Boost. The URL for the official Kizuna Boost site now redirects to the official Japanese site for the new game.
It also seems to be planned for a global release. Shueisha opened the official site for the One Piece card game covering Japan, China, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, North and Latin America, and Europe.
The site is also hosting a teaser video for the project featuring art from the manga. Little information about how the game plays is available, but some card designs showcase characters, point values, and art that resemble panels, scenes, and even sound effect text from the manga.
The site also has several offers planned for the One Piece Card Game. Upon release, four starter decks will be available, with each one themed on a pirate crew: the Straw Hats, Worst Generation, Animal Kingdom Pirates, and the Seven Warlords of the Sea all represented.
The price in Japan for each beginner deck is 990 Yen or around Rp. 112 thousand. The 6 card booster package "Romance Dawn" will be priced at 198 Yen or Rp. 25 thousand. Also available on this new release is a special set of card sleeves, sold in packs of 70. Finally, a new starter deck based on characters from the various One Piece films is set for an August 2022 release.
