PSI: What's The Point Of A Tender If The Cost Of Building A Formula E Circuit Is Soaring?
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission E of the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) from the PSI Party faction, Anggara Wicitra Sastroamidjojo, criticized the budget for the construction of the Formula E circuit to swell to IDR 60 billion.
Anggara admitted that he was surprised. If the cost of working on the track can increase when construction is underway, why should the DKI Provincial Government, in this case, the Regional-owned Enterprise (BUMD) PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) conduct a tender auction.
"Now we are asking the DKI Provincial Government. Why is there a tender, if the price goes up in the middle of the road? Tomorrow, the contractor will participate in the bidding for a low price and it will be increased halfway," Anggara said in his statement, Tuesday, March 8.
Anggara said that the DKI Provincial Government has not reported the tender process transparently to the DKI DPRD. Not only that, the feasibility study for the implementation of Formula E has not yet been submitted to the DPRD.
From this condition, Anggara also suspects that the planning for this electric car racing event was not done carefully. This condition causes development costs to swell.
Anggara said the increase in the cost of the Formula E circuit did not take into account the community's situation. In fact, he said, the issue of rising prices for basic necessities needs to be given more priority.
"The budget has increased to IDR 10 billion just for circuit costs. What are you doing? In the midst of a pandemic like this, you know. It's not kidding. It seems that the DKI Provincial Government doesn't know the priorities. It's easy to increase the budget," he shouted.

For information, the cost of building a Formula E circuit has swelled. PT Jakpro added a budget of IDR 10 billion to PT Jaya Konstruksi, which is working on the construction of the track. This cost is budgeted from Jakpro company funds.
Now, the cost of constructing the Formula E circuit is IDR 60 billion from the previous IDR 50 billion. This is due to additional work that is not included in the predictions of Jakpro and Jaya Konstruksi, namely hardening the soil which is still soft.
