Visiting Arifin Panigoro's House, Jokowi Had Time To Pray The Body And Offer Condolences To The Family
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Arifin Panigoro's house in East Cilandak, South Jakarta today, Tuesday, March 8. The member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) died in the United States.
From the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, Jokowi arrived at the location at around 09.00 WIB and was greeted by the wife of the deceased, Raisis Kartiwa with her two children, Maera Hanafiah Arifin Panigoro and Yasser Mairi Arifin Panigoro.
In the show, the former Governor of DKI Jakarta is seen wearing a white shirt complete with a black cap and mask. After entering the house, Jokowi appeared to be carrying out a congregational funeral prayer led by the deceased's sister, Hilmi Panigoro.
Apart from Jokowi, Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi also appeared to be praying for Arifin's body.
After that, President Jokowi prayed for the deceased before saying goodbye to the family. The body of the late Arifin Panigoro will then be buried stately at the family cemetery.
For information, Arifin died on Sunday 27 February due to illness. During his lifetime, he was known as an entrepreneur.
Arifin also served as a member of the Presidential Wantimpres for the 2019-2024 period along with Dato Sri A. Tahir, M. Luthfi Ali Yahya, M. Mardiono, Putri Kus Wisnu Wardani, Agung Laksono, Sidarto Danusubroto, and Soekarwo. As chairman, the former Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Wiranto.
