Students And Lecturers Of Kelapa Gading Ecumenical Theology College Report To Polda Metro Jaya
JAKARTA - A postgraduate student at the Ecumenical College of Theology (STT) Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Adhitya RH Simanjuntak and the university's lecturer, Yohanes Parapat, reported to the Polda Metro Jaya.
Adhitya's lawyer, Farida Felix, said her client reported Yohanes Parapat because he did not accept the summons and was accused of falsifying a letter related to the graduation of a bachelor's degree (S2).
Polda Metro Jaya received Adhitya's report regarding allegations of defamation and slander based on Report Number: LP/B/1156/III/2022/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya dated March 7, 2022.
Previously, Yohanes Parapat reported five students regarding the alleged falsification of a letter to the Polda Metro Jaya on December 15, 2021.
Based on Yohanes's report, the five students had virtually graduated from the graduate program, even though they had not yet received grades from the courses taught by Yohanes.
This was denied by Farida who emphasized that her client had officially graduated and passed all the requirements set by the Ecumenical STT.
Adithya was graduated by the Chair of the Ecumenical STT Dr Eratus Sabdono on November 17, 2021.
"If there is a graduation problem, Yohanes should report the STT Ekumene campus, not the students," said Farida.
In addition, Farida said, Yohanes's move to report students to Polda Metro Jaya had exceeded the authority of the STT Ecumenical Rectorate and the Directorate General (DG) of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture.
However, based on information from the Head of the STT Ecumenical Study Program (Prodi), Andri Pasaribu, referring to Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020, Farida revealed, a graduate student is declared graduated if he has achieved a minimum of 36 Semester Credit Units (SKS), a 3.0 GPA and has completed a thesis.
“All of that has been done by my client, even my client has reached 50 credits, far above the minimum requirement. Adhitya's GPA, my client is 3.63, higher than the minimum GPA requirement," said Farida as quoted by Antara, Monday, March 7.
Farida said that the Christian Leadership course that was questioned by Yohanes Parapat was also not a mandatory course because there were two credits.
"Even if the Christian Leadership course is not included, it doesn't matter because it is not a compulsory subject," said Farida.
