VIDEO: The History Of PGRI Begins With The Dutch East Indies
JAKARTA - The Association of Teachers of the Republic of Indonesia (PGRI) was established on November 25, 1945. It is also commemorated as National Teacher's Day. During the colonial period, PGRI was known as the Dutch East Indies Teachers Association (PGHB), which was established in 1912. PGHB had difficulty fighting for the fate and rights of teachers. Then came the Association of Auxiliary Teachers (PGB), the Association of Village Teachers (PGD), and the Association of Ambachts School Teachers (PGAS). In 1932, PGHB changed to the Indonesian Teachers Association (PGI). Until finally formed PGRI. Watch the short video below.
