10 Days Of Operation, Cirebon Police Arrest 16 Thieves Who Acted Across Semarang, Jakarta And Tangerang
CIREBON - Cirebon City Police (Polresta), West Java arrested 16 perpetrators of motor vehicle theft (curanmor) from nine cases that were successfully uncovered during Operation Jaran Lodaya 2022.
"During 10 days of operation, we arrested 16 suspects in the crime of motor vehicle theft," said Cirebon Police Chief Kombes Arif Budiman in Cirebon, Antara, Sunday, March 6.
He said the 16 suspects arrested were perpetrators of the crime of motor vehicle theft, both the main perpetrators or pickers, as well as vehicle handlers.
According to him, the suspects arrested were MA, MN, AH, JN, TG, MA, JD, EI, GY, DI, IM, NI, SA, CA, DA, and NM. The suspects are perpetrators of theft and collectors of stolen goods.
Arif continued that the suspects were arrested in the jurisdiction of the Cirebon Police, starting from the Districts of Sumber, Asjap, Waled, Arjawinangun, Susukan, and Babakan Districts.
"They are an inter-provincial network, because their actions are not only in Cirebon, but in Semarang, Jakarta, Tangerang, and others," he said.
Arif added that apart from arresting 16 suspects, his party also confiscated several pieces of evidence including 20 motorbikes, T keys, cell phones, and sharp weapons.
The suspects are subject to Articles 363, 365 of the Criminal Code and 480 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 12 years.
He also ensures that the return of the vehicle to the victims is free or free of charge.
"And we also make sure the process is not complicated, because it's all the rights of the victim," he said.
