MSME Red Carpet, Minister Basuki Builds 516 Street Vendors In The Peak Rest Area Worth IDR 52 Billion
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is said to have just completed the construction of the Gunung Mas Puncak rest area worth Rp52.9 billion. Later, the 7-hectare facility will be designated for 516 street vendors (PKL) or micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the Gunung Mas Puncak rest area had begun from September 2020 to December 2021.
"In addition to functioning as a stop for motorists, the presence of rest areas is also encouraged to be able to provide real economic benefits for local communities through the provision of kiosks for small and medium-sized businesses to promote local products and culinary," he said in a press statement quoted on Sunday, March 6 .
According to Basuki, this new infrastructure facility is part of the support for the arrangement of the Puncak Area, Bogor Regency, West Java Province to increase agro-tourism activities after the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The construction of the rest area is one of the long-term efforts to reduce the risk of landslides on the Puncak Route due to changes in space use, high rainfall, and topographical conditions," he asserted.
For information, this new rest area is equipped with a number of main facilities, namely 3 parking areas covering an area of 1,774 square meters that can accommodate about 500 cars.
Then, the mosque is 576 square meters and the viewing plaza is 572 square meters. There are also meeting points for the evacuation of visitors in the event of a disaster, docking stations, parks or green open spaces, amphitheaters, retention ponds, waste management sites (TPS), and public toilets.
