Marquez Installs Mission Breaking Fasting Honda's Title At MotoGP Qatar 2022
JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer Marc Marquez has a serious mission to break his team's title fast when appearing at the Losail Circuit where the Qatar 2022 MotoGP will take place.
Referring to existing records, Honda has only recorded three championship titles at Losail since the Qatar MotoGP was included in the racing calendar. Marquez became the last Honda rider to win the title in Qatar in 2014, after Sete Gibernau (2004) and Casey Stoner (2011).
Marquez's efforts to raise Honda's name in the Qatar MotoGP could not be done in the last two years. Because in 2020 MotoGP was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Marquez also could not fight in the two race series that took place at the Losail Circuit last year, namely the Qatar MotoGP and the Doha MotoGP. Because at that time Marquez was still in the recovery stage after suffering a severe injury at the beginning of the 2020 season which then made him unable to appear for the rest of the season.
Luckily this season Marquez is already in much better condition than when he was doing MotoGP in 2021 when he again started adapting to the bike and the atmosphere of the race.
Marquez also emphasized that he is now ready to fight in the title race.
"This is my 10th season in MotoGP and I am one of the most experienced riders in this class," said Marquez, quoted from Honda's official website.
"There are many new competitors but my goal remains the same, to fight for the world title," he continued.
Despite Marquez's mission for Honda in the Qatar MotoGP, the race series will take place on Sunday, March 6.
