Chairman Of Commission VIII Confident Minister Yaqut Is Not Comparing Azan: No Need To Fry!
JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission VIII Yandri Susanto believes Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas does not compare the call to prayer to others. Yandri asked the public not to framing with untrue issues.
"There is no Minister of Religion comparing the Azan, there is no need for fried foods," said Yandri after giving a speech at the National Working Meeting of the Directorate General of Islamic Community Guidance in Serang, Thursday, March 3, quoted from the ministry's website.
"The Minister of Religion does not prohibit the call to prayer, does not prohibit the prayer, does not prohibit others. The volume needs to be regulated," he continued
Yandri confirmed that he had received clarification and ensured that the Minister of Religion did not compare the call to prayer. To that end, Yandri rejected the demonstration method that was not polite.
"If there is a protest, go ahead, but with politeness," he said.
"Stop frying unnecessarily. Go back to normal life, worship according to their respective religions," he continued.
Yandri said that the Circular of the Minister of Religion No. SE 05 of 2022 had a very good purpose. However, Yandri hopes that the rules will not be generalized between regions. This is because, he continued, conditions vary between regions. For this reason, it is necessary to add a clause that takes into account local wisdom.
Yandri gave an example that conditions in Papua are different from Aceh. The condition of Aceh is also different from that of Banten, Bengkulu, East Java, and others. "In Ciputat, the population is almost 400 thousand. Meanwhile, in Sumatra, the population is for one district, in Papua it is even two districts. So, if it is generalized, it is not affected," he said.
"There is an area with a very large area. In Bengkulu there is an area where there is only one mosque. If the volume is reduced, it is not audible. So the volume is not generalized," he said.
