Khofifah Entrusts Butter Fruit Tree Transplants To Megawati Via Puan
SURABAYA - East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa entrusted the grafts of the butter fruit tree growing in the backyard of the Grahadi State building to the Chairperson of the PDI-P DPP Megawati Soekarnoputri through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani.
"Mrs. Mega is a collector of rare trees. Then I asked Ms. Puan, if she wished I would send the grafts," said Khofifah after receiving the friendship of Puan Maharani who is also Megawati's biological daughter at the Grahadi State building in Surabaya. .
According to Khofifah, the butter fruit tree is one of the rare fruits that grow. By the governor, it is usually served to guests and relatives while the tree is bearing fruit at the same time.
Some time ago, during the visit of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno and the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil, butter fruit was growing and served.
"When Mbak Puan came here tonight, it was also growing. I also explained it for Mbak Puan," said Khofifah.
In addition to butter fruit, at the event which was packed with a casual dinner, Khofifah promoted the PK-1 pineapple from Kediri which was an innovation of the Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) pilot project.
"This fruit is unpeeled and has no seeds. So, it is immediately split and sliced normally. This fruit is exported to Singapore, South Korea and Japan," he said.
Not only that, local fruits such as durian from Pasuruan and melon from Sidoarjo which are round, cube and heart (love) are also treats for Puan Maharani who came accompanied by a group.
"The food is typical of East Java, such as fish lodeh and rawon. I hope Ms. Puan is pleased," said Khofifah.
Also attending to accompany the Governor, Forkopimda officials such as the East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, Military Commander V/Brawijaya Maj. Gen. Nurchahyanto, and Pangkoarmada II Rear Admiral TNI Iwan Isnurwanto.
Meanwhile, the accompanying group of Puan Maharani who was present were members of the Indonesian House of Representatives Puti Guntur Soekarno, Ahmad Basarah, and Indah Kurnia. The mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi and former Surabaya Mayor Wisnu Sakti Buana were seen.
Meanwhile, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, thanked and appreciated the welcome and the dinner served by Khofifah.
“Yesterday and today, we have toured Surabaya, Lamongan, and Gresik. Thank you for the warm welcome from the East Java Governor, even when she was picked up by Ms. Khofifah at the airport," said Puan.
"That's why I always think of Surabaya as being like my own home, because Bung Karno was born and raised in Surabaya and was buried in East Java. What's special is that this is the first time I've been able to take an official photo with Ms. Khofifah, even though we were in the same cabinet," he said.
