Find Your Own Cooking Oil Stock According To HET Still Rare In Bogor, Bima Arya: This Is PR For The Center

BOGOR - Bogor Mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto said the distribution of cooking oil according to the highest retail price (HET) was still a homework for the central government. Currently traders are still having trouble getting stock.

"Here I see the crisis cooking oil, yes, a lot of it was empty. Even if there is a little. This is homework for the central government," said Bima on the sidelines of a price review at Pasar Baru Bogor, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

During the review, Bima Arya entered the vegetable market on the lower floor of Pasar Baru Bogor which provides various basic needs of the community, including vegetables, meat and other basic needs such as cooking oil and various spices.

Initially, he stopped by a grocery store to question the availability of cooking oil according to the HET stipulated by the Minister of Trade Regulation (Permendag) No 6/2022.

In the Minister of Trade's Regulation, the HET for cooking oil with details of bulk cooking oil of IDR11,500 per liter, simple packaging of IDR13,500 per liter, and premium packaging of IDR14,000 per liter will take effect on February 1, 2022.

He found the recognition of traders who were providing cooking oil according to HET because they were not in stock. Meanwhile, what traders provide is non-HET cooking oil for Rp. 16,000.

Shifting to other traders, Bima Arya also found the same information, if the availability of HET cooking oil was still insufficient. "So in the scarce market, it is still cooking oil," he said.

Previously, the Head of Domestic Trade Development, Consumer Protection and Commerce of the Cooperative, SME, Trade and Industry Office (DiskopUKMdagin) Bogor City Mohamad Soleh explained that currently the distribution of premium packaged cooking oil of IDR 14,000 HET is still limited to being sold in traditional markets. Even the stock of simple packaged cooking oil has not yet entered the city of Bogor.

The Bogor City cooking oil agent, Toko Makmur, said Soleh, allots the purchase of premium and bulk cooking oil because the stock availability is still limited.

Resto and SIIP premium cooking oil as well as bulk cooking oil with a capacity of 16 kilograms have been traded since the HET policy was implemented, with the condition that per purchase of three cartons plus other items such as coffee, shrimp paste and others.

One of the owners of the Toko Makmur cooking oil agency in the city of Bogor, Acun, said that 800 boxes of HET cooking oil are available for Resto and SIIP brands per two days.

A total of 250 boxes were given to three markets and the rest were sold in stores to serve their customers by being asked to buy a minimum of half a dozen packaged milk per box of Resto or SIIP cooking oil.

The shoppers in the shop are allotted to only buy two boxes per purchase. One box contains 12 packs of Resto or SIIP premium cooking oil, the price is Rp. 167,000.

A few days ago, Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi during a visit to the Angso Duo Modern Market, Jambi Province, said that Muhammad Lutfi had more than 190 million liters of crude palm oil (CPO) stock available as of February 14. The stock is sufficient to meet CPO needs for the next 20 days.

"With the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) system, we are able to collect CPO for ten days for 20 days," said Muhammad Lutfi.

The Minister of Trade warned all players and actors in the cooking oil retail business not to play with prices and abuse their authority. Muhammad Lutfi emphasized that the Ministry of Trade would deploy a Food Task Force to ensure goods are available and affordable for traders and the public.
