KSAD's Full Support Sitting On IKN Transfer: This Is Final
JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman followed up on President Joko Widodo's direction at the 2022 TNI AD Leadership Meeting held in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 2.
Some of the President's directives that were reaffirmed by the Army Chief of Staff to his ranks included issues of soldier discipline and anticipation of the threat of radicalism.
"Today the emphasis will be on how to follow up on what was conveyed by the President of the Republic of Indonesia during the meeting yesterday, (among others) about the development of the current situation which has an influence, which he must watch out for in order to be careful with the impact of globalization developments," said Sitting during a press conference before the TNI AD Rapim at the TNI AD Headquarters (Mabesad), Jakarta, reported by Antara, Wednesday, March 2.
He conveyed that in principle the TNI AD fully supports government programs, including the relocation of the state capital (IKN) from DKI Jakarta to East Kalimantan.
"This is final, so whatever happens later, the process of moving the TNI AD will follow and we will also prepare to move to Kalimantan," explained Kasad. Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the TNI Polri Leadership Meeting at TNI Headquarters, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 1, warned the TNI leadership and Police to pay attention to the discipline of each member and their families.
The president at the TNI-Polri Rapim asked the soldiers and police to take care of themselves and their families so that they don't just summon preachers who can actually spread radical ideas.
Jokowi also said he still found that there were families of soldiers and members of the National Police who did not agree with government programs. In fact, TNI soldiers and members of the Police and their families are required to be disciplined in following orders from leaders and government policies.
Related to that, the Army Chief of Staff emphasized that he would again remind his staff.
"Later, I will convey to the Military Commanders, the Danrem, don't let us make a mistake in choosing, invite lecturers who later appear to have been exposed to radicalism, so that we don't let bad understandings reach our families," said Kasad.
During the TNI AD Leadership Meeting, Dudung explained that there was an evaluation of the performance of the TNI AD delivered by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the AD TNI (Wakasad) Lt. Gen. Agus Subiyanto.
"Then there are directions and policies that I convey, then there are lectures or presentations from the Regional Commanders," said General Dudung.
Pangdam VI/Mulawarman, he added, at the TNI AD Rapim gave a presentation on food estates, the Pangdam IV/Diponegoro gave a presentation on radicalism, and the Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih gave an explanation about the development of the situation in Papua.
