Sharia Cooperative 212 Develops 'Ecoop' Digital-Based Business

JAKARTA - The 212 Sharia Cooperative has passed its first 5 years of management since its birth in 2017. During its journey, the 212 Sharia Cooperative has also innovated in business. One of them is the development of digital-based businesses through the Ecoop application.

Chairman of the 212 Sharia Cooperative Membership Division Lukman Hakim said on the occasion of this year's annual members meeting (RAT), the 212 Sharia Cooperative officially launched the Ecoop application, which is a digital platform with a close loop nature as a means of economic activity and member consolidation.

Lukman said, members as entrepreneurs or merchants can increase their sales turnover manifold through Ecoop. Because, KS212's membership base is more than 52,000 members,

"With the spirit of KS 212 Go Digital, it is hoped that it will be able to increase benefits for the needs of members. Therefore, the commitment to cooperation with the KS 212 extended family is absolute for this program. Everyone must attend, everyone must take part, this is a cooperative," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, 1 March.

On the same occasion, the General Chair of the 212 Sharia Cooperative, Muhammad Syafii said that at the age of 5 years, the 212 Sharia Cooperative declared a cooperative that is fit with the times, namely reforming itself as a digital-based cooperative.

"All of its members can carry out part or all of their economic activities online or digitally, so that their economic activities can be much more efficient," he explained.

Syafii also emphasized that the 212mart recovery program is a priority program. Where existing outlets must consolidate membership to ensure product absorption, then KS212 is coordinated to be able to join buying and make central payments, while KS212 guarantees supply by building partnerships with FS.

"For the business that has been managed by KS212, namely bottled drinking water, the sales will continue to be increased for the target of 1 million bottles in 2022," he said.

According to Syafii, the key to the success of the bottled drinking water business is solid membership at the community or downstream level, which must be compact in subscribing to 212 gallons of bottled water. The role of the community must be as an agent to absorb a solid supply on the upstream side because it is supported by four factories. So the price is very competitive and the quality of bottled water is very reliable.
