Ministry Of Transportation Says Public Transportation Will Be The Mainstay Of Transportation For The Mandalika MotoGP Audience
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has arranged traffic engineering ahead of the MotoGP event in Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). In order to expedite the journey, the Ministry of Transportation has made public transportation the transportation backbone for the spectators of the international race.
The Director General of Land Transportation (Dirjen Huhda) of the Ministry of Transportation, Budi Setiyadi, said that his party would optimize the use of public transportation in the MotoGP event.
Furthermore, Budi said the Ministry of Transportation had arranged traffic engineering so that there would be shifting so as to facilitate travel. This includes providing a supporting fleet.
"This public transportation will be the main backbone of transportation in Mataram to the main area during MotoGP activities, from March 19 to March 21," he said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, March 1.
Budi explained that this public transportation will be at Gili Mas Port, Lembar Harbor, Bangsal Port, Kayangan Port, Mataram City Center (ex Selaparang Airport) and BIZAM. Budi said, in total there will be 278 units of assistance buses from the Ministry of Transportation.
Public transportation providedThe details of public transportation provided are 27 units of large buses, 70 units of medium buses, and 181 units of small buses. Budi said, the Ministry of Transportation also provides shuttle buses that serve 7 routes within the Mandalika area from West Parking and East Parking to Gate 1, 2, and 3 of the Mandalika Circuit. A total of 184 units of medium size buses will be provided.
"The Ministry of Transportation has also prepared 184 medium-sized buses to re-transport or carry passengers from several nodes to locations around the Mandalika area. So there are two that we have prepared, intermodal transportation and shuttle buses," he explained.
Budi also explained that the Ministry of Transportation would also impose restrictions on private vehicles, both four-wheeled and two-wheeled, into the Mandalika area. This is to avoid traffic jams around the Mandalika Circuit.
"Restrictions on private vehicles and motorcycles to the Mandalika area. So it is hoped that there will be harmony by leaving private vehicles. So that traffic jams that have the potential to occur can be avoided," he said.
