A Requirement From Erick Thohir So That Indonesia Becomes A Global Islamic Economic Champion
JAKARTA - With the status of a country that has the largest Muslim population in the world, the halal industry has become part of the life of the Indonesian people. However, its development will still depend on the community itself.
Therefore, SOE Minister Erick Thohir continues to campaign for the halal industry. The government is committed to creating an ecosystem for the halal industry in Indonesia to make Indonesia a champion in global Islamic economic indicators.
"The halal industry in Indonesia will develop for the better if we are committed to always implementing it in our daily lives. With innovation and collaboration, we can definitely do it," Erick wrote on his Instagram account, Sunday, February 27 yesterday.
In order to achieve this hope, Erick Thohir who is also the general chairman of the Islamic economic community invites the public to increase their purchasing power or consumption of domestic products.
Erick Thohir noted that the homeland market is a fundamental instrument for the advancement of the Indonesian halal industry. Supposedly, halal products become the main consumption in the daily life of Indonesian people. That is the hope of Tohir.
"This halal industry must again become part of our daily lives, if we ourselves do not have a commitment to love our own products, it is also impossible for our halal industry to progress," concluded Erik Tohir.
He also added, to make Indonesia a halal center in the world, a more macro approach is needed. However, so that people in this Muslim-majority country are closer and use halal products, micro-scale implementation is also needed.
The provision and sale of halal products that are easily accessible to all levels of society at affordable and competitive prices is one way that can be done. For example, rest area 72A has become a place for halal business actors.
This change is expected to be an element in moving the halal industry market in Indonesia. It is planned that the Halal Hub in rest area 72A is projected to be able to accommodate 1000 halal business actors from the small to medium sector.
