Monitoring Results In Banda Aceh, Trade Minister Lutfi: Cooking Oil Available, But Not In Accordance With HET
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi directly monitors the availability of cooking oil (migor) in Banda Aceh. The monitoring results show that the supply of cooking oil in the province is safe. Unfortunately, the price of these commodities is still too high, exceeding the highest retail price (HET) set by the Ministry of Trade.
The market visited was Al Mahirah Market in Banda Aceh, Aceh, on Saturday, February 26, 2022. The visit to Banda Aceh was carried out because it is an area that is a benchmark for the entire Aceh Province.
During the cooking oil monitoring at the AlMahirah Market, the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Aminullah Usman, was present. The Minister of Trade Lutfi was also accompanied by the Director General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade Oke Nurwan and the Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana.
"I appreciate the availability of cooking oil in Banda Aceh even though the price is not in accordance with the HET," he said in a written statement received by VOI, Sunday, February 27.
To that end, Trade Minister Lutfi emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation with local governments to increase supply so that cooking oil prices match the prevailing HET.
The HET that has been set by the Ministry of Trade is Rp. 11,500 per liter for bulk migration, Rp. 13,500 per liter for simple packaging, and Rp. 14,000 per liter for premium packaging.
"One of the efforts that can be done is to use the supply line from Medan, North Sumatra to increase the supply of migrant workers in Aceh," he said.
Trade Minister Lutfi ensures that the supply of cooking oil will increase. He also asked the Head of Disperindag Aceh Province to ensure the distribution of cooking oil went well.
"It is hoped that in the next week things will return to normal," he said.
Lutfi also emphasized that the Ministry of Trade would continue to monitor the availability of migrants and price affordability in accordance with the HET set by the Government and oversee the implementation of the domestic market obligation (DMO) for exporting companies to supply 20 percent of their export volume for domestic needs.
For your information, this working visit to Banda Aceh ends a series of working visits by the Minister of Trade Lutfi on the island of Sumatra in order to monitor the availability of supplies and the affordability of migrant prices. The work on the island of Sumatra will take place in five cities, namely Lampung, Padang, Jambi, Medan, and Banda Aceh on 24-26 February 2022.
This working visit also shows the commitment of the Ministry of Trade to ensure the availability of affordable migrants for the community. It is planned that the working visit will also be continued to a number of other big cities in Indonesia.
