Three Hours After The Earthquake, Semen Padang Immediately Sent A Rapid Response Team To West Pasaman

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 that rocked West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra Province on Friday, February 25 at 08.39 WIB, also attracted the attention of PT Semen Padang. Three hours after the earthquake, the cement company, the pride of the Minang community, immediately dispatched an advance team of the Rapid Response Team (TRC) to the disaster area to collect data on the damage needs and the needs of the people affected by the earthquake.

"Yes, today we sent TRC friends from Semen Padang to the earthquake disaster location to collect data on the damage and also the needs of the disaster victims," said the Head of the Communication & Corporate Law Department of PT Semen Padang Oktoweri who was accompanied by the Head of the CSR Unit Rinold Thamrin.

Oktoweri said the Semen Padang TRC advance team at the earthquake disaster area would immediately coordinate with the local BPBD. After coordinating, they will then collect data regarding the needs of the earthquake victims, and which points will be assisted by PT Semen Padang in the future.

The results of the data collection from the Semen Padang TRC advance team will then be reported to the management of PT Semen Padang. After that, aid was prepared to be sent to the earthquake disaster site.

"God willing, the aid that we will immediately send is in the form of basic necessities. But what kind of food will be sent, that is what we are waiting for from the advance team which is dispatched today," he said.

In addition to basic necessities, Oktoweri also said that PT Semen Padang would later also send the Semen Padang TRC task force to assist related parties and victims in carrying out post-earthquake disaster management.

The delivery of basic needs and the TRC task force is the obligation of PT Semen Padang through the company's CSR program, as well as an order from the Ministry of SOEs to SOEs to participate in helping the Pasaman earthquake disaster.

"PT Semen Padang, as part of the GIS, has a TRC that is ready to help with disaster management. Such as helping related parties in cleaning up the debris from the earthquake and also participating in distributing aid," concluded Oktoweri.
