Surakarta City Government Appoints Hotel For Central Isolation Of Health Workers
SOLO - The Surakarta city government has appointed a hotel for a centralized isolation location for health workers exposed to COVID-19.
Head of the Surakarta City Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Nico Agus Putranto, said that there was already one hotel that was willing to become a centralized isolation place, namely the Dinasty Smart Hotel, located on Jalan MT Haryono.
Nico said the hotel has as many as 27 rooms, all of which are used for isolation. According to him, the hotel will be operational in the near future.
"As for the capacity, it can accommodate 50-60 people," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, February 25.
Nico said one of the facilities at the hotel is an open space that can be used for sunbathing and exercising. Thus, it is hoped that the health recovery process can be faster.
According to him, so far only one hotel is willing to be a place for centralized isolation. He said related to this, not every hotel is willing to be a place for centralized isolation.
"Yesterday we coordinated with PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association), only this one is willing. If that is the case, every management has their own considerations," Nico said.
Regarding this, the Mayor of Surakarta, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, said that by providing a special centralized isolation place for health workers, it is hoped that recovery can be faster.
"The point is that after the isolation is complete, you have to work again, fight again. We prioritize the health workers, if all isolation is centrally comfortable," he said.
Meanwhile, until now there have been two centralized isolation locations activated by the Surakarta City Government, namely in Ndalem Priyosuhartan specifically for women sufferers and Graha Wisata for men.
For now, Ndalem Priyosuhartan is filled with 18 COVID-19 patients with asymptomatic status and at Graha Wisata there are 20 people.
